NRBQ

At Yankee Stadium
My introduction to what has become one of my favorite bands, it arrived at KBEM while I was working there. My recollection is that I gave "Green Lights" a fair amount of airplay. How can anyone not like something as sweet as "I Love Her, She Loves Me"? The title/cover still make me laugh.
Grooves In Orbit
If I could be a member of any band I wished, this would be the one. Geez, they seem to have fun, and it's not just because they spend so much time goofing around, either. If that were the case you'd see Young Fresh Fellows, or Ben Vaughn or Ween on this list. No, the Q finds enough time between all the hammy shenanigans to offer up some really sweet, earnest timeless pop music. Grooves In Orbit is arguably the best example of their ability to shift from sappy to loopy in a beat, as they shift from tunes like "Rain At The Drive-In" to "12 Bar Blues". And it always makes me think of a mini-road trip you and I took to visit Dave at St. John's because it was one of only a couple of tapes I brought along.
