Yes I'm a sucker for any twist on the standard pop music formula, and this sly rock noir from a sax/bass/drum trio is one of the best. The beauty is in the way it doesn't come off as a gimmick; the casual listener probably doesn't even notice the absence of an electric guitar or keyboard. |
