Kind Of Blue I've listened to jazz since discovering the KBEM jazz collection in high school, and I take some small credit for the way it eventually became a jazz station. I've appreciated and enjoyed the music, but I have to admit that some quality about it eluded me until I put this album on relatively recently - ten years ago or maybe even less. I'd heard it before, or at least songs from it, but for some reason this time I understood how Davis and company so totally articulated real moods that I had felt. It was a real awakening for me, a new way of listening that even now I can't quite explain, and led me to go back and rediscover jazz I thought I was familiar with. |
