I'm blown away by the sound of this album. Even in its quiet moments the ensemble has a robust feel that sets it apart from a lot of jazz. The languorous "Goodbye Porkpie Hat" is such a great tune, and an early introduction to jazz for me via Jeff Beck's interpretation in the late 1970s.
